Fresh Cut Lilies

Most lily varieties are available year-round.  They are ethylene sensitive.  It is best to cut lilies when a few of their lower buds have slightly opened and show some color. Cut stems under water and remove lower foliage that will fall below the water line.  Use "Quick Dip" or other ethylene block treatment.  Transfer the flowers to a container with flower food solution. 

Store at 35-40F   

To avoid stains to clothing, remove pollen-bearing anthers before use.
